Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Symbr collects, why we collect it and what we do with it. We keep it to the minimum we need to run the studio, reply to enquiries and deliver our work.
1. Who we are
Symbr is a brand design studio based in London. Symbr is the trading name of Alex Robertson, who is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For anything relating to your data, email hello@symbr.design.
2. What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect the details you give us. This is usually your name, email address, company and anything you tell us about your project.
When you book a call, we collect your name, email address and any details you add to the booking.
If we work together, we also hold the information needed to deliver the project and invoice you, such as your billing name and address.
When you visit our website, we collect information about how it is used. This includes pages visited, time spent on the site, device and browser type, general location and the site that referred you. See section 7 and our Cookie Policy for more detail.
3. How we use it
We use your information to:

Understand how our website is used so we can improve it
Occasionally email you about our work, such as studio updates or referral offers
We do not sell your information.
4. Emails from us
If you have enquired about our services or worked with us, we may occasionally email you about our work. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing hello@symbr.design.
5. Our lawful basis
We use your information because you have asked us to respond or to take steps towards working together, because it is needed to carry out a contract with you, and because we have a legitimate interest in running and promoting our studio. We keep certain records to meet our legal and tax obligations. We only use analytics cookies with your consent.
6. Who we share it with
We use trusted services to run the studio. These include:
Squarespace, which hosts our website
Google Workspace, which provides our email and calendar
Calendly, which handles call bookings
Mailchimp, which sends our occasional emails
Google Analytics, which helps us understand how our website is used
Tools we use to manage projects, client records and invoicing
These providers only process your information to provide their services to us.
Our website also includes content from Spotify and Instagram. When that content loads, those services may collect information about your visit under their own privacy policies.
7. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website. It uses cookies, which we only set if you accept them through our cookie banner. Google may process this information on servers outside the UK. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics across all websites at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. International transfers
Some of the services we use are based outside the UK and EU, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK and EU law, such as the UK-US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
9. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 24 months. If we work together, we keep project and financial records for six years, as UK tax law requires. Email contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings in our Google Analytics account.
10. Keeping it secure
We take sensible steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we only use services with strong security practices. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low.

If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. If you are in the EU, you can contact your local data protection authority.
